Junior Buyer

 A multi-sector engineering and research and development business is seeking a Junior Buyer to join their purchasing team based in Essex. This is a permanent role offering excellent career progression and development in addition to the opportunity to working in a cutting-edge technology environment.


Commutable from:  Basildon, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Billericay

The Role

The Junior Buyer will support facilities related purchasing activities, working within the defined budgets, you will evaluate the current supplier base and seek to engage new suppliers based on their suitability linked to factors such as sustainability, price, delivery, and quality.

The Junior Buyer will maintain up-to-date records for supplier and procurement records and will play an active role in supporting RFQ activity and demonstrate effective supplier negotiation and seek to add value-added services.

The Junior Buyer will support any invoicing queries and ensure that all relevant shipments and goods in and good out are aligned to the purchasing plan for the business.


The Person

The successful candidate for the role of Junior Buyer will have some experience in a purchasing environment, ideally a manufacturing, engineering, or technology focused business.

You will be working on your career path within purchasing with a keen interest to develop along the CIPS pathway (supported by the business) and possess strong MS-Office, particularly Excel skills.

This is an initially site-based role based in Essex, working Monday to Friday, with later scope for Hybrid working. The business offers an excellent development plan for candidates seeking to develop within the purchasing arena.
