Buyer

A multinational first tier automotive supplier is seeking an experienced MRO Buyer. The role is permanent and is based on-site, working Monday to Friday. The MRO Buyer will support all departments of the plant with a specific focus on indirect purchasing including maintenance, repair, consumables, and packaging.


Commutable from: Birmingham, Solihull, Redditch, Tamworth, Warwick, Coventry.

Salary: £ 40,000 - £ 45,000 p.a. + 10% Employer Pension + Health Cashback plan


The Role

The MRO Buyer will support purchasing activities including supplier selection, supplier ranking, supplier development and the overall sourcing process. You will support technical negotiations including both work content and price specific considerations.

The MRO Buyer will support risk analysis and risk mitigations for suppliers and play a direct role in the RFQ process including working closely with the supplier to ensure the best possible outcomes.

The MRO Buyer will support the purchasing strategies for the commodities function and ensure that the required MRO KPIs are achieved including sourcing in compliance with target, cost, quality, delivery, sustainability, and effective supplier management.


The Person

The successful candidate for the role of MRO Buyer will have a proven background in purchasing in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, ideally automotive or a similar near neighbour.

The MRO Buyer will ideally have a background in supplier engagement and be able to demonstrate previous experience of building effective supplier relationships including successful price negotiation.

The MRO Buyer will be encouraged to develop their professional career path within the business with longer term development aims being CIPS certification and a progression path into a senior purchasing role.
