Service Engineer

Developing and manufacturing specialist machinery used in a range of sectors including aerospace, automotive, Oi & Gas, Energy, and Industrial component manufacturing. They are seeking a Service Engineer on permanent basis; this is a field-based role working the UK Midlands and Northwest regions. 

Commutable from: Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool 

Salary: up to £ 45,000 p.a. + Company Car + 5% Employer Pension + Paid Overtime + Daily Meal Allowance Payment 

The Role 

The Service Engineer will visit customer sites to provide both planned and reactive care and maintenance of the equipment. This is a full-time remote position working in the wider Midlands and North West regions with daily travel required to sites.
The Service Engineer will provide technical support, support the commissioning and installation of new machines, repair any faults, and identify the appropriate corrective actions for the customer.
The Service Engineer will undertake both electrical and mechanical fault-finding work packages and act as a trusted guide to the customer including providing product training and develop the customer relationship, continually advocating the business’ service and machine offering. 

The Person 

The Service Engineer will possess a valid driving licence and be able to travel on a daily basis, Monday to Friday to attend sites. With the nature of machine service work, there is a requirement for a high level of personal flexibility including covering extended call outs and some overnight stays where required to complete the jobs required.
The Service Engineer will ideally possess a HNC (or equivalent level) qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering field and have previous experience of servicing and maintaining high value equipment at the customer premises.
Experience in supporting CNC machinery, industrial automation equipment and electro-mechanical machinery is essential for the role in addition to the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and machine schematics.
Excellent customer service skills are required for the role, you will act as a point of contact for the customer and an ambassador for the brand to continually promote and upsell the products, service packages and training content available.
